National Nutrition Month’s roots come from the ADA (American Dietetic Association) in 1973 when they launched week long campaign to get Americans to, “Invest in Themselves and Buy Nutrition.” Popularity of this week grew over the years so much that it was eventually changed to encompass an entire month in 1980.
In order to have a completely healthy lifestyle, maintaining a balanced diet must be taken into account at some point, so why not start now? When you eat a meal, try to have fruits and veggies take up half of your plate. The reasoning behind this is for portion control of foods that aren’t good for you (you’ll be fuller and won’t eat as much ‘bad’ food) and for the simple fact that most people skip many of the fruits and vegetables at the dinner table, even though they provide essential nutrients and vitamins.
Physical activity is also a huge factor to healthy living. This is where Skatetown USA can help! The roller skating that we provide can help you become (or remain) physically fit! Exercise paired with healthy eating is an instant recipe for SUCCESS!
Join us this March – as we stay fit and healthy all month long!
